The drums for sale on this website are original vintage drums from a by-gone era. They are classic drums and equipment that were made when quality was a premium. In other words, "they don't make them like they used to." COLLECTORS & DRUMMERS Vintage drums are valuable for playing drummers, but especially valuable for collectors. The old drums are seasoned and solid, and have a sound that is prized because it can't be manufactured anymore. Collectors know that vintage drums are an investment that will increase in value as time goes on because the old drums are getting more and more rare. |
ABOUT DON THORPE I played the drums from the 50's to the 80's, then again for an Elvis impersonator in the 90's. I have played on all the drums offered on this website; everything from big band Swing, combo Jazz, Rock & Roll, and Country. I have even played for Greek weddings. During the late 50's I was in several of the army marching bands, and associated with some of the finest drummers in the country. |
